A press conference and festivities were each staged in one of the tents erected directly in the grounds of the DHL Air Hub.

For the opening of the official event, the 300 guests from the world of politics, business and the media were treated to a special corporate song performed as a duet by a singer and a rapper.

After celebratory speeches were held by the Prime Minister of Saxony, Georg Milbradt, and the Federal Chancellor, Angela Merkel, an entertaining European performance was held. The dynamic combination of film, 3D animation, live dance and singing presented the core message of the event in an enjoyable and multicultural manner.

The event was rounded off by guided tours of the construction site and themed catering.
